I just purchased a 2000 S2000 and was wondering about the Window Auto Up/Down function. It does not seem to work on my car. Has anyone else experienced this or can you point me in the correct direction to find out what may be the problem? Thank You David

I had a very similar problem. When dropping the top, the driver side window only went down a couple inches before stopping, otherwise everything worked ok. I was not able to reproduce it for the dealer the first 2 times, but eventually it started doing it all the time. When I took it in they told me it's a known problem that the motor is faulty in the windows. Take it in and they should already know what your'e talking about, and replace under warranty.

Mine is a 2001, and it's done that for a few months... when the convertible top is retracted, the driver side window doesn't go down automatically like it used to.  Must be a bad run of switches or something...   -Chris

My car is 18 months old and just started to do the same thing on the drivers side.  It doesn't goe down when the top comes down, but does if you press the botton to lower the window.

When using the window switches the windows go up and down as long as they are pressed. Usually, as I understand the 'auto' mechanism, with one push and release of the window button the window would either go all the way down or up. Maybe these are not set up that way. When the convertible top is retracted, my driver side window dows not go down until after the top is down. I have made an appointment at the dealer to have it looked at. I have not seen any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) on this (yet). Anyone else seen anything on this? Thank you to all that responded. I will let you know what the dealer says. David

Was looking at the list of Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) this evening. Found one that relates to the electric window auto down problem. It is TSB #01008 dated Jan 2001. It states: On some vehicles, when the top is lowered or raised, or the driver trys to use the auto down function for the power window, the window goes down only 3 or 4 inches. The window goes down all the way if you push and hold the power window switch. Will see what the dealer says next week when I take my car in for service. I usually prefer to do my own services, does anyone else? Just purchased the car so wanted it checked over for anything Recall or TSB related before the warranty expires. This is my first Honda so not too familiar with the S2000 - yet. So far everything looks very straight forward. David

I had my S2000 in at the dealer for a 1 year check up. Actually it is 3 years old and I have been doing most of the 3 year service myself. However, I wanted the dealer to do the recalls and Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) updates. They spent all day on the car. The TSB for the window auto down feature was noted and fixed by replacing the window regulator. It works now. I also had the seat belt recall done and the spark plugs replaced due to a TSB. I changed the transmission and differential oil as well as flushing the brake and clutch fluid. Now the only thing left is flushing and changing the coolant. Maybe this weekend. Will feel better once the service is uptodate. The previous owner did not take it in except to replace the convertible top with a newer one with glass window. That is another story for another entry. Have a good weekend. David
