After I bought my 2002 Susuka Blue two days ago, I figured there must be a group on Yahoo that spoke to S2000 owners to simply gush over this machine. It's unreal. Yikes, with a $39,000 OTD price tag, I had to really scrape for every scrap of change in my sofa cushions. It's worth it. The sales guy said there were only 6 blue ones in Northern California dealerships, hence the mark-up (...and I can't believe I just used the word "hence.") so I took the plunge immediately. Hey, since this is my first convertible, is there a special product to protect the top? Like Armor-all or something like that? Mine came with Perma Plate for exterior paint and interior leather, but nothing about caring for the top. Also, anyone know where I can get a weather-resistant cover for my Blue Beauty? Honda makes a dust-resistant one, but I prefer one with a little more protection. C-ya on the road

Congratulations on you new purchase. May the car bring you as much enjoyment as it has brought me an thousands of others!

I highly suggest that you check out http://www.s2ki.com . That's S2000 International and you'll find thoudands of S2000 owners and a very extensive forum list to answer most questions you may have.

For protecting the top, I suggest you go to your local Porsche dealer (YES!) and pick up  bottle of Tequipment Convertible Top Shampoo and a can of Top protectant. They're the best things going. As for the car cover, I'm not sure but checking the website I listed above would be beneficial.

I'd also like to add that we have a national organization, the S2000 Club of America (S2KCA) the holds local events as well as a national event, S2KDays, once a year. This year it will be in your neck of the woods in Northern California, specifically Sacremento and also at Thunderhill Racetrack. For more information, be sure to check out the club's website at http://www.s2kca.com . There is also discussion forums devoted to the club and to S2KDays at http://www.s2ki.com

Thanks for the information, Gregg. You were a big help. I plan on joining the club. I had NO IDEA there was all of this information out there on S2000's. I must have spent a few hours today checking out the S2k web site. Wow. Thanks again. -Vince
