I'm a proud owner of a 2003 TL Type S. I have broken in (1100 miles now), and am concerned that even on a dry road, when I floored the gas pedal after being stationary at the stop light, I spun the wheels. Is this typical or expected? Because of that experience (and a few other similar ones), I start off pretty mildly from a stop light, and that is not a good sign. :-(

The TL-S will not/should not spin excessively. You may experience a little spin, but when the computer detects wheel spin, it reduces the power output. Try leaving a light and just flooring it - the car won't spin in excess. It's actually faster by leaving a little more gently, then mashing the pedal after getting the rpms up a little bit.

I've got the 03 TLS too. Haven't had excessive wheel spin. I note if there is the slightest give, the VSA light flickers and am back on track. :)

Yes, the VSA light flickered, and it was of course, for a very brief moment (< 1 second). I was just surprised that it happened.

Ok - point noted. Will try getting the rpms up before flooring it.
