I think you should definitely take the car to your mechanic.

I think it may involve the balancing of the wheels, or maybe there's a problem with your rims or tires as you suggest.

Yes, if your tires are not balanced your car will do this especially when you hit a certain speed. Have you recently put on any new tires?

I had this problem but never could really think that could be some issue as it was a new car. The moment I went to the mechanic they said that something wasn't equal on both sides of the tires and they balanced it. I am not sure of what exact is the one they mentioned but better take it to a mechanic immediately.

I think that having well balanced tires in general is a good idea for getting the best possible gas mileage.

I think even when they're just slightly out of balance, even when it's not as noticeable, it still affects mileage.

Yes, you are right it can effect your mileage and generally when they are not balanced you can notice it pulling to one side or another.

I too feel that the mileage of my car is really improved after getting the repair done. The sounds were the worst thing when I had this problem which was noticeable just by me or one who drove the car rather than the one who is navigating.

I hate when you are a passenger in a car and you can hear something but the person driving cannot. When this happens my husband thinks I am hearing things.
