I have a red 1991 Si, 5 speed manual. I'm debating whether I should
fix it up or just get rid of it and get another used car. It's a
great car, but it needs work. There are a couple of little parking
lot dents. The red paint is dulling and fading. Except for the
cloth on the driver seat wearing out, the interior is in relatively
good condition. It just needs a good cleaning. The tires are good.
All the struts need to be replaced soon, but they are okay for now.
There is a slow oil leak somewhere. I forget where the leak is, but
it's slow and the mechanic basically said the engine needs to be
pulled out to replace some gasket - not an expensive part, but the
labor is. Transmission might need a little work, but it seems to be
fine. I haven't really kept up with the maintenance. Last time I
had work done I spent about $1000 doing brake pads and major
service. What would $3000 do? Is it worth it?
