I have a '93 del sol with a original spoiler on the trunk. The trunk isn't staying up without carefully lifting it all the way up a few times. Are the SHOWA struts original? If I buy struts do I need to make sure they can hold the weight?

i think the problem is with the struts only.....yes of course if you are buying the struts see to it that it can hold the weight..
