I see H and A accessories has the trailer hitch for just under $200.
Has anyone seen a better price? And, if I purchase one, would any
body shop be willing to install it? Thanks.

Below is a reply to my question on the hitch subject on the other Yahoo CRV
group - I just ordered the hitch, ballmount, wiring, and ball for a total of
$138.29. There is a link to Hidden Hitch on the macsspring site where you
can get all the part numbers, which you then plug into your order on
macsspring. Directions also available on HH site, looks pretty damn easy to
do yourself. I'll let you know in a couple weeks when I slap mine on.

hmmm, try this link http://www.macsspring.com/website/hitches_frame.htm you
have to enter the part numbers at the bottom of the page, there's also a
link to the hidden hitch webpage there, where the part numbers and more info
(instructions) are located. let me know if you still cannot find it.

Depends on the body shop, but don't know why any good shop would turn
down work.
You might want to check with an RV dealer, as they have more
experiance with hitch installations.

Remember the hitch is 1/2 the wiring is the other 1/2.
Either can be Honda or Aftermarket.
If you have an idea what you want to tow or carry on your hitch, you
are more likely to get the right equipment from the start.

The guys at Hitch-Web are a great help.

I ended up with a Curt 2" hitch that I put on myself.
The wiring will be either Honda or of my own design, but so far I am
carrying bike so no wiring is needed (yet).

I will only be carrying bikes around also. So, I am thinking a
relatively light weight will do. You say you ordered the 2", is that
the way to go for bike carriers?

More accessorories are available at 2" than at 1 1/4".
Several 1 1/4" hitches did not recommend carrying 4 bikes.
I also made the decision because I have some 2" accessories, and plan
on haveing a 2" hitch on my larger vehicles.

The 2" vs. 1 1/4" is the size of the square opening in the receiver,
not the ball size.

As for a the class of the hitch, the 2" are labled with a higher
class than the Honda hitch, but I would be leary since there is more
to a tow rating than just the hitch.

As for the 1 1/4" not recommending 4 bikes. I doubt it is just a
static 200 LBS that they are concerned with, but maybe the amount of
force that 4 bikes could generate bouncing at the end of the carrier.

I didn't see the Curt or any other 2" on Hitch-Web, they had Putnam,
Draw-Tite, and Dalan, all 1 1/4". Where did you find that? - Larry

If you call Hitch-Web they can help you.
I think you have to select a different calss to see the Curt hitch,
or since it is faily new it might not be on the web.

As for the way they hitches attach. On the '02 it seems all the
aftermarket hitches I found connect to the frame rails about the same
place as the factory hitch. The diffgerences are that the factory
hitch boxes in the frame, but the others do not. In addition the
factory hitch also picks up the rear center tie-down for additional
support.

I wish I could have found a hitch that used the factory connection
method and was 2"/Class 2 or better, but all of life is a compromise.

I 'HAD' one of those hitches that bolt to the rear floor...someone rear-ended me and the hitch took the full force of the impact....it tore two big holes in the floorboard and I had to have the rear floor cut out and replaced...it hasn't been as quiet since.....
