In the 80s I drove a couple of Toyota Tercels and liked them at the time, but I only had them a few years. I suspect they wouldn't have matched my current 89 Civic for reliability.

Has anybody else driven a Tercel from the 80s or a more recent one?

I have driven a more recent one, but never owned one personally. It was a friend's car. It seemed to handle ok I guess, but I am just so partial to Hondas that pretty much nothing can compare.

I'm not sure if the Tercels are still priced as affordable as they were back then.

My impression of the current Tercels is that they're not as "bare-bones" as mine were.

I guess they're still the least expensive line of Toyotas?

Yeah, I would think they are the least expensive. Or maybe it's the Corrollas?
