Hi,

Just leased a 2008 Pilot VP. When i braught the car home i thought to check the inflation pressures. I noticed they were all inflated to 40 psi, when the recommended pressure is 32 psi. any thoughts on why the dealer would inflate to 40, besides better gas milage?

Thanks,
Gerard (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Is 32 the Honda recomendation or the Tire Manufacturer recomendation?

Well it all depends on how long did u wait to take the tire pressure, how long did you drive home, and what is the weather like? Cause usually the dealers usually put in 32-35 psi to the tires, some might even put more on the tires since it will feel lighter to the wheels when customers are test driving. but as you might know, tire pressure increases due to temperature, friction, and driving. So it can rise to higher pressure like 40 psi when the tires are hot. So check it again after a day's rest, and it should lower back down to the normal psi.
