My '97 V has just hit 108K miles and I'm about to have the timing belt
replaced. What should this cost me? I have gotten one quote of almost $700
(including the water pump). Is this what I should be paying, or am I being
ripped off?

My local Honda Dealership quotes 560 bucks for a timing belt replacement. Since the belt for my Audi was over 1K ( in 1990 dollars) it sounds like a good deal. I decided to make the dealership eat the cost to close the deal on the used CR-V.

I need the same work done on mine. Timing belt and water pump. The
quote I received from my local honda dealer was $487.
