Tata Group's launched its cheapest car in New Delhi that is priced $2500. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)
Check out the news at :

It is too small though but affordable for everyone in India.

I heard about that the other day on the radio.

There are some concerns about more pollution because of the increased number of vehicles, but I guess on the other hand it's good that more people will have more affordable transportation.

It kind of makes a Smart car look like a muscle car, doesn't it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I know about the increased pollution but they are stating that it wouldn't be as much as it is with that bikes roaming around in India. It would surely make many to have a car at affordable transportation, but I feel it is too small, one more concern is there isn't AC.

I also notice that people are protesting the fact that the car plant will displace farmers.

I haven't seen any mention of when it might be available in North America?

Well I haven't either seen about when it might be available in America. I am not sure if such cars would ever come up in America, we need to wait and watch but I really doubt.

I know that they are taking orders for smart cars in the US for late 2008. I seen this just yesterday about this car. It is rather unique looking and you cannot beat the price that's for sure.

I haven't "comparison shopped" the new car from India with the Smart car, but I would think the Smart car's more expensive than the one from India? Smart cars are on the roads here in Canada, but I've not heard what they cost.

I have heard that in a few years, some Chinese autos that have been displayed at the auto shows will make it to our market, and be considerably less expensive than the North American made cars.

That could shake up the industry, I bet.

Sorry but that would just be par for course if the Chinese versions end up here and cheaper. Seems to be the way it always goes.

What is the price of smart cars exactly. I tried checking it out but couldn't find the exact price. I guess the ones that have been launched in India are more cheaper than other cars, is it so??
