Hi,
I have a CRV'00 and I am thinking about to do something to make
it faster. Any different between a supercharged or turbo for the
CRV'00? Thanks!

Johnny, your engine in the CR-V is rather new. But if you want to
supercharge your CR-V, call up Jackson Racing. They have really good
superchargers. If you want to turbocharge, you can buy a turbo that is made
for an Integra and custom bend some pipes to make it fit. I myself, would go
for a turbo. By the end of this summer, i should have it in.

Any different between supercharged and turbo? Which one will last
longer or easy to maintain?

I put a Jackson SC on my 2000 cr-v, it is an automatic so I don't have as
much control over the initial take off but for the rest of the powerband it
delvers the v-6 power that this car should have had from the beginning I have
about 12,000 miles on it since the installation and no signs of ware and tare.

Beside the SC, what else you have to change along with the SC. I just
want to get some idea of what is needed to change. Thankx

I am just wondering about how much would that be causing you to put
a turbo in your crv?

Johnny..it's going to be a large a$$ amount....the turbo itself is about
$3,200 and to custom bend some pipes and install is about another
1,000...all in all about a good $4,500...but it's worth it for me...i'm
choosing a turbo rather than a JRSC(Jackson Racing Supercharger) is because
i can work in stages and gain more power off a turbo than a SC...but the
trade off would be turbo lag....there is a White Honda Civic that has a
B20B(CR-V Engine) in it...and they swapped out the head to a VTEC head and
they turbocharged it....the damn civic now runs like 11.9s down the quarter
mile...the civic is in the Turbo magazine...so...the article on the civic
inspired me further into engine tuning the CR-V....and the engine is perfect
for turboing...8.8:1 compression ratio on 97-98...but the 99on have a lil
higher...with 9.0:1...i think...not sure...go to www.crvtec.com and
www.b-20.net they have everything you will ever need to know about our CR-V
engines...i'm still debating over which turbo to get though...a RevHard
Stage 2 or DRAG Gen III...if you do decide to go turbo...you'll be looking
into running about mid to high 14's with only a turbo running about 10
psi...that's really good....the stock CR-V runs only about mid 18's...it's
slow as hell...but it has a lot of potential to kick some Mustang
ass....hehe....

In reply to how much for the Jackson SC and other extras.

I paid $2650 for the shop to get the kit and another $450 for them to put it
in (two days) plus I went for the Jackson fuel pump ($100) for extra flow
capability. The total was $3200 but since I used an authorized Jackson dealer
I got a $200 rebate from Jackson.  Final Final total $3000.
