Does anyone know why a Blaupunkt stereo doesn't
work quite well in the Insight? I tried 2 different
Blaupunkt stereos and both had mediocre FM reception and no
AM reception. Everything was insatalled correctly,
all wires and antennas. The one thing I can think of
is that the Blaupunkt being a European brand, has a
different input for the stock antena. It comes with a
adapter to fit american standards. Something with this
set up causes me to think that the stereo is not
being properly grounded. What a shame too. the CD
player in the Blaupunkt is excellant. The model I had
chosen was the Munchen and it really blends well with
the insight. I ended sending both Blaupunkt stereos
back to Crutchfield and opted for the JVC Kameleon
stereo which has been tried and tested at Honda Insight
Central. I'm really disappointed I couldn't get the
Blaupunkt to work, I would have preffered that stereo over
the JVC unit, it has a better reciever and excellant
sound qualities. In the meantime, I'll just have to
wait for Fedex to deliver the Kameleon.

I installed a kenwood cd deck and it works and
looks perfect.I also put jvc 2-way 6's in the
doors.With some jvc 4-way 6x9's in solo boxes behind the
headrest facing up.Also a 10"square solo-baric in the area
where the spare was.With a kicker 720watt amp bridged.I
also put neon lighting under my Insight and a
blacklight inside.Looks great I'll have to make pictures of
all this and post it for you all but I have pic of
the outside of the car ."check it out"
