HI,
I own a Honda Civic 2001 with 50Kmiles (only owner) and a few days ago the SRS red light indicator in the dashboard came ON and stays ON all the time while I am driving. Is this a SRS module failure? I checked the fuse for the SRS (10 Amps) and is OK. Any idea?
Thanks
Abel

Had the exact problem with my 2003 Pilot it was covered under warranty, it is most likely the drivers seat safety belt latch.

SRS lights stands for Supplemental Restraint Sysytem which means that the air bag or inflator is on. My car says you should not mess with the yellow SRS wiring b/c it could activate the inflator or prevent it from functioning properly. I have a 95 civic hatch.

there is a way to turn off this light under dash panel yellow harness plug you have to jump this plug and cycle key...got step by step instructions if any one needs it very simple unless u want to go to dealers and pay for it this light is like that service engine soon......should'nt recomend taking steering off

I have read the instructions posted by "Josher", for resetting the SRS light. They are fairly simple. However, can one really trust them to be good? The posters' name is even suspect. Can anyone here confirm that the process will work? Basically, it is to short two MES Connector terminals, turn key on, (light will be on), when light goes out. disconnect the short, when the light comes on again, re-connect the shorting wires (light should go off again), when it does, disconnect and remove shorting wires.
Know anyone who has done it successfully?

My SRS light came on a couple months ago.
Honda did a test on it and didn't charge me.. they said it was the driver's seat belt..
So I went back a couple weeks ago.. they gave me a new seatbelt.

The light has not returned.. as yet.
