I'm thinking of buying a bike rack and have pretty much settled on a
spare time mounted rack. If anybody out there has had success with
another way of carrying a bike, or if you've got a specific rack that
you could recommend, that'd be great. Thanks for the help.

It depends if you already have a hitch. The thing with a spare mounted rack
is that your spare tire is not centered on your tailgate. Whats hapends is
that you always have a wheel on a bike that sits 1 and 1/2' away from the
right side of your CR-V. Personnaly, I chose a hitch bike rack so the bike
sits in the middle. If you don't have a hitch, it would probably be less
expensive to get the spare mounted rack.

go with the thule brand. i think the name is spare me, spare tire mount.
it is adjustable since the crv's tire is off center.
