3-6 inches FINALLY testing the "V" again. I noticed a Mitsubishi Montero
and Toyota 4-Runner 2 wheel drives (a few small trucks and rear wheel drives
too) stranded at the bottom of my subdivisions steep-steady incline
entrance.
My 1999 CR-V 5-Speed did just fine, I kept the rpm's to 2K to 3K and pulled
the hill with minimal slippage in second gear.

We get a wet icy snow here that creates a "black" ice effect on the roads.
Already a few fatalities with people overdriving what they thought was clear
roadway. If you are thinking about a road trip to from the North to
Atlanta, Georgia along I-20 you might want to re-think the trip necessity
until late tomorrow. Next Sunday is forecasting more of the white stuff.

I took a few photos of the homefront about 1:00pm today Wednesday, January
2, 2002. The driveway is completely covered with snow/ice as of 6:00pm, the
photos don't reflect current conditions. Tonight should make roadways
sheets of ice, tragic for southern drivers. VERY limited road snow/ice
protection equipment in the south, municipalities will probably throw a
little dirt on bridges and steep inclines.

Is Saltman from SC???  So am I.  Today was the first day I drove my 2000 SE in snow.  I was pleased.  It did well although I was surprised at how you could hear the all wheel drive kick in.  I can't believe the snow here!  Glad I still don't have my Del Sol on a day like this!

What do you mean by, "You could hear the all wheel drive kick in?" I'm just
wondering because we have not had enough snow in Columbus, OH for me to test
mine.

Thanks.
