I drive an '02 Honda Civic 2-door. After it rains, the car has a terrible smell, as if something has gotten wet and mildewed. But there are no obvious leaks that I can find.

has anyone else had this experience?

i drive a 98 DX. last summer i notice that every time it would rain, my car started to smell like puke. it was gross.

anyways, i found that it was coming from the trunk. i just took everything out of the trunk, spare tire and everything. gave it a good scrub. waited a couple days, and it was gone. hasn't came back yet.

i had that happend once , when it rained i smelled something groose , but it was cuz one of my windows wouldn t close all the way up witch let rain in , maybe yours don t ether

I never found this problem in my Honda Civic but I faced this problem with my another car, it is a neon 95 model which really smells bad when it rains.

I have you checked under the mats on the floorboard? I had this same problem and there was a hole in the floorboard.

i have the same problem...after it rained i started smelling this also...then i lifted up my floor mats and noticed the carpet starting to turn green

Yes, ours was pretty nasty and moldy when we lifted ours up to. Just glad that we finally found what was causing it though.

I've left my rear windows extended open in the summer during a rain, but I've never noticed a strange smell.

I'd try the suggestions above and use a good cleaner. Good luck with that.
