My 98 CRV-EX automatic has developed a shudder when cruising at about 30 to 35. If I cruise along at that speed without accelerating or de-celerating, my tach drops from about 2k to about 1.5k rpms and then shudders like I am lugging the engine. It almost feels like when you start in the wrong gear in a manual trannie vehicle. This does not happen if I am driving in D3, just D4. And if I modulate the gas pedal slightly, making the tach go up or down a little, I can stop it. If I do that constantly, I can keep it from happening at all. Is my transmission shifting into a gear inappropriately? Any ideas?? I'll be taking it in to the dealer to have them check it, but I would appreciate any input that you guys who have had a CRV longer than me might be able to give me. Thanks, JRC
