i just bought an '07 civic ex coupe in march of 07, 4 months later my ac goes out. after a trip to the dealer thinking it would be covered by warranty i found out that because a tiny rock had hopped up into the ac condenser that it wasn't going to be covered by warranty. 6 months latar my ac is dead again. can you guess what the problem is? thats right, another pebble found its way into the ac condenser. and another $800 to get it fixed.
is anyone else having this problem or am i just the lucky one? the first time it happened i thought it was a fluke because what are the odds? but now i'm thinking that it might be a manufacturers defect or a bad design with the car.
if anyone has had this happen or has any advice please let me know.

Same thing happened to our 05 HAH. We tried AC for the first time after two owning this new car for two month. No cold air. Took it to the dealer and got diagnosed that road hazzarad (a tiny rock) hit the AC condenser and caused the gas to leak out. The dent is literally smaller than a dime. The bill was $750 to replace the AC Condenser unit. After some complaining and calling Honda North America, I got it replaced for free.
In my opinion, the design is somewhat flawed. My wife and I have owned four cars together. All of our four cars were driven to +150,000 miles territory and never have I had this experience before. AC condenser hangs a bit low near the ground and there isn't much protection from the element. Honda design problem maybe.

I just had this same problem with my 2008 Civic that has only 3900 miles on it. This is a design flaw as pea size gravel / rocks can easily fly thru the grill opening and damage the raditor. You would think Honda would take that long to fix the problem ... just needs a screen behind the grill opening. Honda I'm giving you the answer FREE however would appreicate you replacing my damaged condenser.
You should look at this site http://www.honda-lawsuit.com/ to join a law suit. There are many models and years that are included. If you haven't had the problem yet ... you probably will sooner or later.
