Hey all..I have a black 93 Legend coupe. Im thinking about putting 17 inch Arelli Assassyns on it. Has anyone seen a Legend with these on there...and if so..how do they look? Please let me know.

The first thing you need to answer is "what is the offset?". Stock Legend offset is +65MM. About the lowest you should go is +45MM with a 215 section tire on a 7.5" rim. Any less ofset and/or higher tire section and you risk rubbing in the rear.

Hmmm.... they are 5/114.3 + 38MM offset. Being mounted on 215/45/17s. You think that will work?

Here is the deal with that tire/rim set up. If you leave your car at stock height, you will have no rubbing, but the front rims/tire will stick out past the fender about 1/4" as an estimate. Now, if you lower the car, you will still be OK with rubbing issues, and the negetive camber as a result from the lowering will allow the front tires/rims to tuck, or be flush to under the front fender. However, if you ever plan on correcting the camber with a camber kit, the front rims will start to stic kout again, and also you will have very little room for camber ajustments. How do I know this? Because I had a 38mm 17X7 rims that I got from another Legend owner. We put that on my firends Legend Coupe, and the above is what I've observed. I run a 17X7 with a +46mm offset, and I am borderline acceptable. I do have a camber kit, and I can only correct to about negetive .5. Anything further then that, and my rims in front will begin to stick out, not to mention I'll start to have all sorts of rubbing problems. Do as Dave C mentioned. Get an offet of no less then +45mm. I personally aways suggest +48 - +50 though.

Chris..as well as Dave and 1-2-3..I appreciate the info. I put the assassyns on the coupe..and it came out looking just the way I wanted it to. It does stick out about a 1/4 of an inch..but as I was hoping it would stick out about a 1/2 inch...this was acceptable. The only problem now is that I need a hub-centering ring for the wheels to fit perfectly without any movement. It has caused a pulling sensation to the right that the hub-centering ring and a good alignment should correct it. The tires do have a sweet...angry looking extended V tread pattern...it gives the car a very muscular look. As soon as I can get pics up...I will.

you can go bigger then that. I have a 94 sedan, with 225/40/18 with no rubbing in the back. It's been rumored that you can go upto a '19 on the legend. So you don't really have to stop at 17.

That is true, some owners already have 19" rims on their Legend, but again, it all depends on the offset you use.

My pleasure! Sounds like it looks really sweet - I saw a Legend Sedan with them on and it really looked good.
