hi everyone, I own a '98 model automatic right-hand drive V imported from Japan. It has one annoying feature which I'm trying to get rid of. When I shift into reverse gear, the car emits an irritating 'ting-tong' alarm sound. This is *not* a reverse sensor, but is apparently just a reminder that the car is in reverse. I've been trying to disable it (so I can install a reverse sensor) and I've tracked the sound down to a white circuit-box about the size of a pack of cigarettes under the steering column. However from the look of the box it probably contains more than just the alarm, and I'm uncertain if it's safe to disconnect it. Does anybody know what this little box does, and if it's safe to disconnect?
Thanks in advance, jd
