I also put Michelin X-Ones on my CR-V, but I stayed with the original size (205R70/15). I live in Florida, so I wasn't concerned about snow, but I wanted a tire that would hold well on wet roads. If I hadn't gotten the Michelins, I would have gotten Goodyear Aquatred IIIs. Both tires are supposed to give excellent wet road traction. I also didn't want to be buying new tires every few years. Both of the tires that I mentioned have a claimed tread life of 80,000 miles. My impression of the Michelin X-Ones after the first 2,000 miles are: 1) The Michelins seem to give a softer ride than the BF Goodrich tires that they replaced, not necessarily a desirable trait on an SUV; and 2) I'm getting about 1 mpg better mileage than before.
