I need to replace the OEM tires before the snow falls. I am looking
for suggestions on a set of replacements (205R70/15's).

Primary consideration is that they are a good year round tire, that
handle rain and snow, but dont want some mongo-lug pattern that makes
a ton of noise inside the little 'sport-cute'.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Where do you live? What kind of winter do you expect? This will have a
lot to do with what you NEED.

I am very pleased with my Michelin X-One all season radials. I went with
215R70/15 's, they add a slightly more staunch appearance.

I Just got Toyo Tranpath S/U 205/70/15. They look a little more
"rugged" then the OEM, and I don't notice an increase in noise at all. I
recommend you check them out. I think they're great!

I had to put two new tires on my wife's
97 Crv. I put on two Goodyear Regetta 2.

They seem to be very good tires.

I also put Michelin X-Ones on my CR-V, but I stayed with the original
size (205R70/15). I live in Florida, so I wasn't concerned about
snow, but I wanted a tire that would hold well on wet roads. If I
hadn't gotten the Michelins, I would have gotten Goodyear Aquatred
IIIs. Both tires are supposed to give excellent wet road traction.
I also didn't want to be buying new tires every few years. Both of
the tires that I mentioned have a claimed tread life of 80,000
miles. My impression of the Michelin X-Ones after the first 2,000
miles are: 1) The Michelins seem to give a softer ride than the BF
Goodrich tires that they replaced, not necessarily a desirable trait
on an SUV; and 2) I'm getting about 1 mpg better mileage than before.

In New Zealand, it's hard to find 205/70R15 tyres that are a bit
more "rugged" than the OEM tyres. They're all designed for road use
mainly. I therefore had to use a Firestone Firehawk ASR steel radials
205/75R15 which is designed for on-road and off-road use and seems to
last much longer than the original tyres. It's got over 60K on them
now and look like they'll got for at least another 15-20K.
