Greetings...

I just got a new roof rack/kayak carrier system which will work a bit
better installed on the passenger side; however, the radio antenna is in
the way of the kayak being loaded. While it can/does work on the driver's
side the front tiedown straps are directly in front of me.

It is easy/possible to get/install a replacement antenna? I seem to recall
folks saying the factory antenna can be unscrewed for automatic car washes.

I wonder if either a short and/or flexible antenna would be ok? Does anyone
have any experience with a replacement antenna, perhaps after the original
one was damaged?
