This is a good question. At first I didn't think it would be all that hard but now that I have thought about it I wonder how you would get the mechanism to work moves the mirror around?

That site for repairing the right side mirror is just what you need to do. It has the broken mirror, and the steps needed to replace it. Underneath the mirror is the mounting for the mirror. It shows exactly where it goes. Also they have troubleshooting questions. It seems like very complete information to repair the mirror.

If memory serves there's a small plastic triangle behind where the mirror mounts that you remove first using something to gently pry it off. There should be 2-3 screws under that, remove those then slowly pull the mirror away from the car. You'll want to guide the power connector up and out of the hole, disconnect it and attach it to the new mirror, then screw it on and replace the panel, it should be pretty simple.

ON the website for the mirror repair it has a DVOM. That tests electronic systems, and it used for the repair. Adhesive was also used to repair the mirror. They also have definitions for everything you need to do it. This makes things simpler. The purpose is to have an industry grade job done when you're finished.
