I need to pull out the lower storage compartment (the one below the
ashtray) on the center console of my 2001 CRV so I can mount something on
it. Is it held in by the four screws beside and slightly above it when open
or is there some sort of catch I can't figure out that allows it to pop out?
Thanks in advance!

Actually last time I needed to do that I went to www.handa-
accessoiries.com and downloaded the instruction manual for (i think)
the in dash cd changer. There are pictures of how to open the lower
dash and the location of the screws and pegs..

www.handa-accessories.com
The correct location for installation instructions for many CR-V
accessories, just a typo error.

Well, to bring this matter to a close, I worked on one today. The little
trim piece at the very bottom of the console pulls off via two push-pins on
the right and left side, then it snaps off toward the rear of the vehicle.
there are two phillips screws underneath that cover. Then open the storage
tray and there are 4 phillips screws that need to be removed then the lower
tray will be able to be pulled from the console.

Eric,

Thanks!!! It is usually the part where you have to push it this way or
that to get it to snap off that confounds and perplexes me. I can usually
handle the screws :-)

No problem. What are you mounting there anyway?
