I have a '01 crv with a OEM dealer installed alarm.  The range on the remote control is about 3-5 feet which makes me very unhappy..especially on rainy days when i'm running for the car.

Has anybody else experienced this?  If so, if you have suggestions or a resolution, please pass along.

Thanks!

Looks like a week battery or bad remote / receiver . Have your dealer do
a test.

PS. You should be getting more distance out of it. I get about 200 ft.

Mine is similar even with new batteries. Oddly, one is a bit better than the
other. What is even odder is my friend's EX remote locking system is good
for at least 75 feet.

Mine only gets down to that range if it needs a new battery. Usually it is about 25 feet. But it is a '98, so may not be the same system.

Thanks to all for the feedback.  Unfortunately, I checked the batteries ( car's brand new & new remotes also) and took it back to the dealer who refused to open the car up.  He said that, because I live in silicon valley, there's lots of radio interference and a range of 5 feet was normal.  I thought that was a pretty lame excuse and I'll probably look for a different dealer when I have to service my car.

Thanks again for the input.
