I have had my Pelude for a week or so now - just one problem really - it has failed to start on about six occasions on first turn of the key. It starts eventually but can take four or five goes. At other times just bursts into life at the merest hint of a key! I met a guy with a J reg 2.3 in Tesco's this morning - he has problems starting from time to time too, and has never really got to the bottom of the problem despite doing all the obvious stuff like changing the distributor cap and leads, new plugs etc. I'd be grateful for any ideas.

I suspect the starter switch! I had a similar prob when I first got my lude. Check the low tention voltage to the coil, When mine was at its worst, It was down to about 8volts. So I had all the stearing column pannles off and had the key switch out. It looked fine, but I gave it a real good clean up, and a good ol spray with the WD40, And I havent had any trouble since! Good luck dude!
