i know that this was probably discussed b4 but i was wonderin' if anybody knows some1 who can do the disc conversion in the gta. also, does that person/shop provide all the parts that i need or do i have to find these parts and then bring them in. if any1 has a full set up done, please tell me all the details and things i should look for when doin' this set up (all the pros and cons). also, is a gsr rotor set up better than a sir, or should i just get the ls set up so that i can have the same rotors as the ones in the front (correct me if i'm wrong but i was told that the EL has LS rotors up front and civic drums in the back)? better yet, does any1 have the conversion done on their car and would like to sell the entire set up? basically we can swap my set up for urs (yes....i know i have high hopes :-).....)and of course a reasonable amount of cash. and finally, last question......i promise!!, is it actually worth getting cross-drilled/slotted rotors for the extra cash since i'm already doin' the conversion? any help would be awesome!!! thanx eltyper416

GS-R, SiR Teg LS/RS etc all use the same brakes 10.2" front and 9.something rear the calipers differ from teg / EL/civic slightly on the fronts the EL has normal Civic SI front discs, they're the same size as the teg ones BUT teg pads will not work, you need civic SI(Usa: civic EX) pads I woudln't get x-drilled, stick with Slotted heres a link to some of my old old pics http://members.home.net/acuraelguy/brakes1.jpg http://members.home.net/acuraelguy/brakes2.JPG http://members.home.net/acuraelguy/brakes9.JPG http://members.home.net/acuraelguy/brakes8.JPG aems up front and back when i had the stock setup at the rear

thanx for the info steve!! i thought that aem only has the big brake kit available which means that it will only fit if u have 17's or bigger. how do u survive the winters without damaging ur rimz? also, how come ur rear discs aren't crossdrilled/slotted like the front? i thought aem gives u all 4? i could be wrong........anywayz, do u know any1 in the gta that will do a good job for $450? and how many hours will it take to do it? did u encounter any problems when doing this (ex. the used rotors are warped and had to be machined, the brakes didn't work properly.....in terms of slow reaction time etc...)? and one more thing, does that mean that i hafta get civic si pads for the front and teg pads in the back? some more info would greatly be appreciated!!! eltyper416

the AEM Kit comes in Front OR Rear you can get away with 16" i ran 16"s for a while after my 17"s, i just take em off for winter as i have winter tireson the stock rims, my rear discs were stock in the photo because the slotted discs i ordered did not come in yet at that time, they were taken a few months ago.. $450 will cover you parts only.. labour is another 2-300 probably I think i paid close to $1000 after everything with new pads front/rear etc.. yes civic pads front and teg rear.. the only thing is that you need to push the pedal a bit further if you dont change the brake master cylinder.. but thats about it
