Does anybody here race their Honda? If so, what model and where do you race it?

I admittedly dont know anything about racing, although I want to get into it. Maybe there should be an "intro to racing" thread for newbies who want to learn more about racing and how to start.

I don't race....mostly because my insurance company frowns on such behaviour. Besides, I get enough speeding tickets without actually "racing"!

I agree with your thinking on that ACCER. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

But when I first saw this thread, I thought it referred to organized track racing instead of the potentially deadly practice of street racing.

Maybe karenlyn could clarify if she meant legitimate racing?

My cousin races. Never on any roads where there are traffic or anything. They always go race out on big fields on my uncle's land (plenty of room). He has an 1993 Acura Integra but has been talking about also getting a Honda Civic as well.

I know someone who was getting into a bit of a road rage situation, cutting off another car. Then the officer flashed his badge and the guy realized it was an unmarked police car.

The officer came back and made a point of charging him with something. I think it was an offence involving another vehicle he owned. The point is the cop went out of his way to do it.

That guy is a bit off-the-wall though, and he has things like that happen to him a lot. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

I agree with you above. I get into enough trouble without adding racing to the mix.

You can probably get into trouble on a closed circuit, too.

Did you see the story about the comedy actor Eddie Griffin crashing the Ferrari Enzo that was owned by the director of the movie Redline?

Griffin was starring in the movie and there was a rumour that the crash was a hoax.

Is your Camry 2 or 4 door? The weight of the car matters, especially in racing. Are you talking about racing on public streets or something else? I drive a 1995 Camry V6 LE, and it's 4 -door, but it has some get-up-and-go. Which I like, not anything like a Corvette, but for a luxury car, it's great. I just know that weight matters. I race my car on public streets, but against similar cars, I won't race against a Corvette. That's unfair. E-mail me if you have further questions, my fiance knows how to race.

Anittany101
