i'm looking at a 03 element but can't tell if it's awd version of the EX or not. I only looked at the exterior but didn't spot the AWD sticker on the back of the other elements i've seen. is there another way of verifying it's indeed a AWD??

If you can get the Vin # you'll find all the answers to your questions. Just call a Honda Dealer and they will look up the VIN# you give them....from there they can help you with you question on 2WD or 4WD...

The 2003 Element did not have AWD option, only real time 4WD. You can tell if it has the real time by looking for the rear differential.

Also, when I bought my Element (05), the only EXes to have the rear sunroof were 4WD models. I believe, as I recall, that you had to get the sunroof with that combination, too.

2005 was Realtime AWD not 4wd. 4wd was only offered in 03 and 04.
