Hi Gang. I will be the new owner of a CR-V EX this week. As a new member of
this listserv, I have a couple of questions not related to the car
specifically. I belong to two musical listservs, and neither will allow
attachments to mail. What is the policy of this group? Also, I am a former
5-speed lover, and could not find a CR-V here in Atlanta, other than
automatic transmission. Why? My only regret about selecting this car is that
I will miss the fun of shifting. :-((

Happy Holidays,
Janie

I, like you, had to have a 5-speed EX model!! The only dealer network that
could locate a 5-Speed for me was http://www.hendrickimports.com/ .
They have 5 Honda dealerships located in the Southeast to INCLUDE Atlanta,
GA. If you "click" on the Honda symbol and then send an E-mail to internet
sales, they should be able to locate one at a very satisfiable price.
I'm terribly pleased with the 5-speed and glad I found one. DON'T accept
the automatic you'll regret it.

Well most people prefer the automatic, maybe that's why there aren't more
5-Speeds available. Sounded like someone else had a choice in the purchase
too. Resale YEARS DOWN the road is easier with an automatic, virtually
anyone can drive an automatic.

The CR-V is simply the best deal out there in the SUV market. Regretfully,
it's getting crowded in the parking lot at work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Interesting to note that we were at our Honda dealer
yesterday, looked at the new 2001 CRV's to compare them to
our 1998... very little change incidentally... but the
interesting part is that the dealer is tacking $1700. onto
the MSRP... and is selling them like hotcakes at that...
all we can say is glad we have ours, and so long as they are
tacking on dollars to the MSRP our value is protected...
and we are :-).. We love our CRV, one of the finest
vehicles we have owned, and it has the lower horsepower
original engine... We like the automatic transmission.
:-)
