alex.... thinking about buying a crv?you can't go wrong.i've been working
in a honda dealership since 1973,so i probably know a little something about
hondas by now.in november,i bought a '01 cr-v se.i chose a cr-v because i see
every day what DOESN'T happen to them.they don't wear brakes out,the entire
drivetrain is absolutly bullet-proof.we never see any electical problems
either.these cars are incredibly dependable.take alook in the classifieds and
see what they're bringing used.it's unbelievable!i would never have bought
one if i didn't completely believe in this car. good luck.....jack

I agree. Our 98 is a really great automobile all in all.  We have the two wheel drive with automatic and it is perfect for our use around Jacksonville,FL.   We tried comparing it with the Nissan Xterra and the Toyota RAV4 and there is no comparison.... Another thing to look at... The Ford Escape appears to be copied from the CRV.  Check it out. There is no way any Ford compares with any Honda.

I am curious, what was the downside of the Toyota RAV4? I don't have one, but I am curious.
I have the Honda CR-V EX.

The new Rav4 was recently criticized for being an insurance
liability -backing into an object that hits the spare blows the glass out.
I sat in the rear of one at the car show this spring, and the legroom still
isn't as good as the CR-V. I have taller ppl. riding with us all the time,
so that's a strong consideration.

Also, given the large number of accidents people have involving the front
bumpers of their vehicles, the Rav looks like a costly fix with those signal
lights built into the bumper corners.
Finally, no removable card table w/basin in the rear, which makes a
noticible difference when removed for a big trip with 4 ppl. and lots of ski
gear. Can't easily slide skis between the front seats of the Rav like we
did.

For me the CR-V meets my needs better, and I LOVE IT!!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My husband and I looked at the RAV over a year ago.  Although neither of us are big in size, we felt crammed together in the front seat.  I knew the vehicle did not have a bumper, but Darrell did not believe me.  "All cars have bumpers."

Needless to say, we bought a CR-V.

The Rav was just to cramped in my opinion, plus they have no bumper on the
back of those things, which I cant understand why they would build something
like that, and that's coming from a HUGE Toyota fan. In my opinion the RAV is
disappointing
