A little nervous going from a honda accord that has been so reliable, to a 4
wheel drive vehicle that I know so little about. My accord I bought new 10 yrs
ago.Best car I've ever owned. I'm reading about some of the problems people are
having with their new crvs.....Yikes! Tell me their minor! Would like a white
one, only comes with tan interior. How about it....wrong choice...dirty all the
time? They only offer two choices, black or tan. Also, any complaints about
having to use the key to open the back while your arms are full of packages? I
just pop my trunk on the accord. Can't have everything I know...but will be
stuck with it for a few yrs!!

Hi -

Don't be nervous about the CRV - it's an awesome little SUV. We have
had new Hondas in our family for many years, our last was an '88
Accord that my mother is still driving.
We have a 1 month old '02 white CRV EX that is great. First of all,
we didn't mind the tan interior because the back/charcoal interior
shows every particle of dust and we tow our CRV behind our motorhome
so we didn't want any extra work. The white never looks dirty and is
a lot easier to see at night or in the fog. It also has plenty of
power on the freeway and would be the very happiest if it ran 80
mph. ;-).
We researched these cars for a year, found out that Honda was
redesigning the CRV for '02 and bought ours with no regrets. This car
had no flaws - what we have come to expect from Honda.

Good luck !
P. S. The back glass opens with the remote, so you can pop some bags
in at the top before you open the door if needed.

Is it true that you have to use the key for the back end?? My '98 CRV-EX has keyless entry to all 5 doors..

I’ll agree with Shutterbug…I think you’ll
be happy with your choice…we switched over to a 02 EX Auto a month or so
ago from a 96 Accord and have been very happy with it.  No issues at all,
construction seems Honda-solid.  We have chianti red with the Tan interior
along with a Black Lab that loves riding in it and no cleaning issues.
And yes that back glass has four was to open it…the remote, the key, the
handle (assuming its not locked) and a switch by the driver…take your
pick…and you’ll find the rear door is very easy to open also..great
for the two kids, wife and dog (+ plenty of power and good gas mileage ~25mpg)

The remote keyless entry works on the
passenger door only with one push and unlocks all 5 doors with two…the
glass has a separate button on the remote to open it up separately..+ a switch
near the driver to pop it up also (along with opening from the rear handle
(with an extra twist)  if its unlocked)
