I'm in the second day of owning a '93 Honda del Sol, and I love it! Not only is it in awesome condition, but I SO can't wait to 'go topless'! I just have one question though, I'm hoping someone out there can help me. The roof rattles! Seems to only do it on one side, where the latch is. Has anyone had this happen? If so, how do you fix it? Thanks!

Hi Dvlwings, I just read your post and I'm hoping you still love your del Sol. Del Sols are great cars!! I have had mine for 9 years now and the rattling roof is something that you get used to. Mine has rattled for almost the entire time that I've had my car and even the Honda service dept had no luck getting rid of the rattle. Let us know if you've figured out a way to get yours to stop. =Nan in NC=

Hi Nan! Thanks for the reply. Yes, I still love my del Sol! I sold my 95 Dodge Stratus for the 93 del Sol, and couldn't be happier. My 'new' car is older than my old car, but I have not stopped smiling every time I get in the drivers seat! I bought it with 134K miles on it, and it runs great. I also have a Honda Nighthawk (I learned on a Rebel!!), so I've turned into a Honda girl!! Thanks for letting me know about the roof rattle. So far, the only way I've figured out how to stop it is to turn up the music and go topless!!! :) If I figure out a real solution, I'll let everyone know... Enjoy!!! Tara

Hi Tara, I'm glad you're still love the del Sol!! What color is yours? Mine is the electric blue. Your solution for the rattling roof works for me!!! LOL Hey, I have a couple of questions about your Nighthawk. When I bought my Rebel a few months ago, I toyed with the idea of buying a Nighthawk, but since I learned on a Rebel, that's the bike I decided to buy. Does the Nighthawk seem alot taller (seatwise) than the Rebel? If I remember correctly, the Nighthawk's seat is a couple of inches taller than the Rebel's. Do you ride your motorcycle alot? =Nan in NC=

Hi Nan, My del Sol is white. I bought it used so didn't have much choice with the color, but since it's in great shape for being 9 years old I don't really care really! I've actually had a few people argue with me that it can't be that old. I love the electric blue though!! Yes, the Nighthawk is definitely higher up than the Rebel. I'm only 5'4" tall and I am totally comfortable on it. It's also my first bike and I went with a 750cc. How about you? I learned on a Rebel as well, a 250cc, but I like how the Nighthawk is sort of a cruiser/sport bike mix. It's also my fiance's old bike, so he knows it in and out. He's got a Yamaha V-Max. We ride often...I did my first group ride Sunday, the only female not on the back of a bike!! What a great feeling!!! Just got back from a ride tonight too, first night ride. Do you ride a lot? Tara

Hi Tara, White del Sols are beautiful...especially ones that are clean and in great shape. I always laugh and tell people that white is a positive color for me. (My Mazda Tribute is white.) I'm sort of glad that when I purchased my del Sol 9 years ago, the Honda dealership had only a blue one and a red one in stock. I would have had trouble deciding between the blue, the white, and the green. I do ride my motorcycle alot...as much as I can. I am still learning and getting used to riding around in traffic. It was intimidating at first. I purchased my bike in March and I've put about 725 miles on it. I'd like to ride more but work and life tend to get in the way. I hate when that happens. :) I'm going to take a photo of my del Sol as soon as I can and upload it to the group. Can you upload a picture of your car? =Nan in NC=

Hi Nan, I never really liked white cars before, but the more I have my del Sol, the more I like it in white. I have to say, I REALLY like the blue and red one's though!!! Mine is very clean, it gets washed once a week, and it's still in great shape...and I'm the 3rd owner! I'll try to get a picture uploaded soon! Sounds like you ride just as much as I do. What got you started? Do you have other people that you ride with, or is it just you? I know what you mean about being intimidating! Two days after I got my license, before I had my bike, by fiance told me to take his 1200cc V-Max out...first time on a real road, by myself. THAT was some white-knuckled riding let me tell you!! I didn't even make it around the block I was so nervous...now, I'm waiting with my helmet in my hands for him to come home! If you haven't done so already, check out some of the

Hi Tara, I was tired of riding around as a motorcycle passenger so I decided last summer to get my motorcycle endorsement. After waiting several months to take the local Motorcycle Safety Class due to their waiting list, I finally got my license last November. Then I purchased my Rebel in March and been having mucho fun on it since. I ride with friends (riding all different kinds of bikes) and we have a blast!! I have checked into the Yahoo groups for women riders, but there aren't any in my area. Maybe I'll start a group..."Tar Heel Women on Bikes" or something like that!!! =Nan in NC=

Rene, thank you! I'll have to see if my fiane will try out your instructio= ns on tightening up the roof. Thanks for posting! Funny though, I've notice ove= r the past week or so that I haven't been hearing the rattle...maybe has somethin= g to do with the difference in temperatures?? Anyway, thank you... Nan, looks like there IS a real solution (other than turning up the radio &= going topless!) I'd definitely start the Tar heeled women on bikes group!! LOL Thanks again Rene! Tara

It's only a temporary solution though... and you will still get the occasional creak. It definately helps though. Rene

Believe me, I'm topless as much as I can be, but live in an apartment and d= on't have the luxury of a garage...really not a big deal to me though...like I s= aid to start of with...my simple solution has been to go topless, or just turn up = the radio!
