I've got a 1998 Accord LS, it's done over 70k miles, I've only had it
6 months and until last week it had been perfectly fine. After a 200
mile journey, I took an hours' break. I got back in the car, it
started fine, drove for about 1/2 a minute - then I experienced
complete power failure - no gas, no lights, nothing. Didn't start
first time but then got going in less than a minute. I had it checked
out by a mechanic but he'd never heard of such a thing and could find
no problem.
A week later on my return journey I'd done about 100 miles and was
doing about 80mph in the fast lane on the motorway when I felt an
interruption in power for less than a second. This time I noticed that
the red SRS indicator light came on and then went off again. Luckily
the car didn't stop but kept on going.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Any idea what to do
other than pay out huge amounts for 'exploratory surgery'?
Any advice appreciated,
Jez
