I have power lock issues on my Honda Element 2003, 5 speed EX. The symptoms: 1) I can lock and unlock driver’s door only by manually lifting or lowering the lock. 2) The power lock switch on driver door locks will unlock the passenger door and rear hatch. 3) If you hold the driver door handle and manually depress the driver door lock, all the doors will lock. 4) we installed a keyless entry... it was only working on the passenger and rear doors.... now it won’t work at all. Also, none of our keys will fit in or turn in the driver’s door lock... I assume that’s a separate bad lock issue.

Do these symptoms mean the actuator needs replacing? Or could something have come unhooked? In case it’s relevant, these problems compiled gradually... first the key didn’t work in the door, then the driver’s side power door lock tried to work but didn’t have enough strength to lock all the way, then it stopped working completely.
