I recently replaced the rear stock 6x9, which has 2 impedence and 20watts of power with the pioneer TSA6965. The treble is awesome, so clear and crisp but it's lacking in bass. In doing so, I cut the accustic feedback system wire. I was wondering what purpose it serves because I did not notice any differences without it. Also, I am looking for the wiring diagram for my 1.6EL. Is it the same as the 2000 civic? I am also planning on getting a new deck, the apline 7858, what are your opinions on it? Any feebacks will help guys, thanks!!!

Hello, I can't help you with the 6*9's but i just recently replaced my factory CD player in my 1.6EL with with a Kenwood KDC-mp8017 (MP3 player). I think this unit is pretty good but it does sacrafice some sound quality for the MP3 capabilities. Back to your question. I'm not certain why you would need a wire diagram. I just bought a wire harness from Visions Electronics for a 1999 Honda/Acura. Once you have this harness it's as simple as connecting the same color wires from the deck to the harness and then just plugging in the harness from deck to the harness comming out of your car. Very, very easy. You shouldn't cut the wires in such a nice new car as an EL. Were the 6*9's easy to install? That accoustic feedback wire that you cut, was it going into the factory speaker or something? I'm not familiar with this wire or it's location, can you explain? I'm thinking of ditching all four stock speakers soon.

I am almost done installing the pioneer DEH4300. ($244 CAD!!!) Oh man, I can't wait. I am still looking around for those P-harness. Most places are out of stock. The 6x9 were easy to install, the trick is to remove the rear window seats (on the sides, close to the doors) Once you've done that, remove the back panel. Becareful with those plugs, make sure you don't pull too hard. Other than that, unscrew those 4 bolts on each speakers and blast the music. To your question about the acoustic feed back wires, they are located at the right rear speakers. You will see the speaker plug has four wires instead of two on the left side. In my opinions, the acoustic system does absolutely nothing. I have tried them on/off with different speakers. Eric
