A couple of good advice are weight reduction and breathing.
Here is what I have in my 1.6EL (mods only)
AEM CAI
Apex WS cat-back exhaust
Field V-SFC <- Optional
CraneCam 8.5mm SP wire
kgmm DR 21 1.6" drop on 4 corners
Neuspeed Upper Strut bar
KYB adjustable rear shocks
Brembo X-drilled roters
KVR semi-met brake pads
Toyo Proxies T1-S tires
Here is what's coming:
Landspeed PowerCore header
A set of 4 Racing Hart 15" (<12lbs)
Handling is also important. If you have more money, invest on a Zex
billet cam... very good review. It adds 11whp during mid range and
like crazy 5 lbs/ft of torque. You can forget about the Field, just
all the mods done and have some to custom tune the ECU, remove the
rev limiter and change all the ignition timing and vtec x-over.
Cheaper this way.
With my current mods right now, I have added almost 20whp. I have
some dyno graphs to prove that. AEM gives at least 10whp by itself.
Once I have the header next year, maybe I can break into 120whp (a
little closer to an SIR). :)
Regards, Karson
