Trying to save a buck or two.. I changed the oil on my Del Sol Recently and
gave it four quarts. I was thinking. I need to check
the owners manual. Which said 3.2 ! I am pretty sure I have just
driven the car for the past 3000 miles on 4 quarts (The previous oil change)
Guess you should always check the dip stick!!
Just before the oil change my check engine light came on. I sometimes
smell a burnt oily smell. And now the car has a real hard time starting,
makes a real rough scraping noise from under the hood. Car only has 75k on
it! What might it be! And how mucho do you think it will be to fix!!
Argh!!

Oh boy !... You may have done some damage as a result of this. Over filling the engine with oil can cause the counter balance units on the crank shaft to "slpash into the excess oil in the crankcase (the oil level being higher than normal) This causes cavitation (the introduction of air bubbles into the oil) Air does not lube very well... Your best bet is to take it to a mechanic you know and trust. It is impossible to to tell you if you've done any damage at all over the internet....

Your probably right. I have a OBD-II scanner, I am going to hook up and
find out what the error on the computer is. I may have multiple
problems. I am thinking that the scraping noise, is coming from the starter
motor, not disengaging from the clutch. I have a manual setup.
Happy Holidays Everyone
