I have had my Odyssey for 8 months. I don't know when the last person that had it had a tune up, but when is a good time to get a tune up and what are some signs that you might need one? Also, are there anything special that I should get other than the usual that you get w/ a tune up? Thanks!

I don't worry much about the tune up because I get regular oil changes and tire rotations. Usually the mechanics there let me know if it's time to do anything else, like change filters or service the transmission.

I get regular oil changes as well. I've had mine for 10 months, and have not yet had a tune-up. I'll probably get an annual once-over by the dealer once I've had mine for a year.

I would say that if your Odyssey seems to be running rough or isn't getting as much gas mileage.... that might be an indication to get things checked out. It is always best to get the preventative maintenance done as suggested to avoid any issues.

Well, this is a great question because I usually have the same guy do all my minor work, as well as maintenance. I could swear my plugs have been on my 95 for YEARS now, but he always just says the same thing- that they look fine. Not being really auto-savvy, I'm not sure whether having them on there for 2 years+ is good or not. The plug wires haven't been changed, or probably even looked at in longer than that.

Plugs and wires really depend on how far you drive and how hard you drive. What year is your Ody? Older ones may go through plugs a little faster if any oil gets in the combustion chamber. It's not very hard to pull out one plug and take a look.
