I am looking at purchasing a Odyssey from the year 1999 to 2001. Are there any problems with these models year?

i have had a lot of problems with my 99 for example had to replace O2 sensors about 4 times (it was giving the code for the rear one and not the front and the front was actually burning the back one out) had to pay about 500$ for the Catylitic converter, and everything seems to be extremely expensive for it.

this is just my experience but don't let it completely discourage you... all car manufactures have lemons

My friend has 2001 Honda Odyssey EX-L, his only problem with the vehicle is the low tailgate height when in the up position. He is 5' 11" and when loading and unloading items into the spacious back well he have learned to do so while bent over to avoid getting smacked in the forehead by the trunk latch. I guess the engineers did not figure the height of the average male consumer is taller than 5'8". LOL

I have never owned an Odyssey myself or known any one who did. I would listen to the people here who do though. I heard about the low tailgate for the tall gentleman. He is a tall man, so I understand why he had trouble with it. That is something to consider when buying a vehicle. The van I have opens up in the back. My trips to BJ's is very easy because of that.
