Just received my new 2002 EX CRV and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!

I do question a 3,750 mile / 3-month FIRST service interval though. Seems a
bit long to me.

Dis you pay sticker, 22.7K. I hate to pay stciker and may wait till
spring 02, but I'm not sure they will be discounted if supply remains
tight and demand is high.

What is invoice.

Unfortunately I did pay full sticker and something tells me that an
Over-Sticker situation will occur in the Northeast.

Honda has priced the car very aggressively and none of the competition even
comes close in terms of price for this level of standard equipment and
performance.

IMHO it's a damn good deal even at full MSRP....

The "FIX" is in ;-)

I was told they replaced the front seat belt part (The one with the red
button) that the buckle fits into. It is now about 1 inch longer so that it
sticks up further from the seat. I'm unsure if it was changed in any other
way.

I paid $200 below sticker for a new black EX - first off the truck!

I've had the car for 3 days, and I'm still discovering nice storage areas.

The thing's great, and the seatbelts were fixed.

Lot's of luck, JC

I was ready to buy the Escape but decided to rent one for a day to see
if I liked it. With 200 HP it certainly has plenty of power, more
than you really need unless you want to tow something heavy. I got
22mpg for mostly freeway driving. It was a bit noisy, but not more so
than my Toyota truck. I decided not to buy one based on the gas
mileage, range and I wanted a manual transmission.

The local Honda dealer is marking-up their 2002 CRVs EX $1800 above
sticker, they offer no low interest financing and they have no
5-speeds. Interior seemed nicer than the Ford.

I looked at the new Saturn Vue at the recent car show. It was very
nice. I don't know when it hits the showroom.

Question1: Has anyone driven or even seen a 2002 5-speed?

Q2: The Escape has a limited slip differential and the CRV does not,
what does this mean in the real world.

You forget the most important fact, the ESCAPE is not as reliable as the
CR-V. Even if you got lucky and bought a decently reliable ESCAPE you would
be seriously disappointed with the trade-in value in a couple of years.

A co-worker is crying about a sad ESCAPE purchase, rattles, tranny problems,
and suspension maladies plague her vehicle. She is trying to trade it on
any SUV and the dealers are shocking her with low trade-in value for her's.

Quality and reliability are important factors that I always investigate
in-depth before spending my hard earned money.
