When my engine is running and I have the clutch out I hear a rattling sound near my engine like someone rolling their tongue (only comparison I could think of). When I drive and get up to about 35mph it makes a grinding sound. The only time the sound is gone is when the clutch is in (or the car is off). Is this my through-out bearing (don't know the spelling)? If so, how much is it for a new one (just the bearing, not the labour) and would it be worth the money and effort to put it in when I am ordering a new engine and tranny in 3 months?<br><br>Thanks for the help...

Im not 100% sure but it sounds like a release bearring for the clutch. It comes with the clutch when you buy it. Therefore if you clutch is finished then it would make sense to change it all. But if all you are going to do is change the bearing it is not worth it because they have to take apart the whole tranny. Hope the info help, but it is hard to determine without hearing it. But I believe the bearing is cheap, its the labor that hurts. JJ
