I don't own a CR-V, but did have a 2005 Mits. Eclipse that I had that problem with. i asked the dealership what was causing it and after a few random excuses I came to the conclusion that they had NO IDEA. Anyhow, tried the holes as well, but it really doesn't work. I t does allow for the moisture to escape, but at the same time allows for the dust to come in and then stick to the moisture which leaves your headlight getting dirtier and dirtier... (dimmer and dimmer)
Best bet is to get a new assembley. Try the junkyard though, because you will be able to see if the light already has a problem with moisture before you buy it.
