i need some help on a no. of things w/ my 86 first of all i would like to find out how hard it will be to swap a 88 and newer front and rear suspesion? 2.is there anyone out there that has done any kind of perf.upgrades to a automatic? if u have could u please e-m all your info. 3. is there some one who could verify this info for me,I was told that the only swapping for my particular year is to do a acura honda swap especially for engines. 4. how can u tell a b16 engine? also, i would like to make this car a fi car so if u have some info on or do's and don'ts on installing a fi engine. oh ther is one more thing i would like to swap in a disc brake set up so if there is any info that can be shared it would be most appreciated. thanks for having this site and if anyone else knows of anysites that would help my cause at all it would be greatly appreciated thanks again. the bleaunite

When you say swaping your suspension i take it you mean lowering your car. If this is what you mean. Yeha you cna do this to your 88 civic go to a local import shop and they can advise you on which products to use. You can do preformance upgrades to an auto but it will never be as fast a a manual of hte same type. Who ever told you that was hte only swap possable was full of it. ANything can be done with the right abount of money. A b class motor is defined by have DOHC(dual over head cams) a b16a motor is a 1.6 liter DOHC VTEC motor. You see these in new Si civics. B18 motors are generally out of acura integras and as far as brakes most anything can be done i am sure. just contact a local tire shop and talk to them about the work involved.
