Which of the Honda models is great on gas mileage? I love my Element but am considering a purchase of a second vehicle.

Well the civic would be your number one bet there. Depending on the year you can get anywhere from 26 to 32 MPG! pretty good if i do say so myself. Also the two door models will often get better mileage than the larger 4 door models. hope that helps!

I have heard the Civic is good on miles. What about the Civic Hybrid? What have you heard on that one?

Sorry I don't have calculations, but my Civic is great on gas and I'm also expecting a lot more mileage on the car itself. Currently it has around 240,000 Kms on it.

I'd expect the Hybrid to be very good, too. Come to think of it I should start researching that model, for when my civic actually retires. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/s12.gif)

you might want to take a look at this article before you think about that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks for posting the link. I would have expected a more glowing report of the hybrid.

Still, he was getting 31.4 mpg which isn't all that bad, is it?

That was an interesting article. I had no idea that you should only expect 75% or so of the listed mileage in actual use! That's an amazing disparity.

I saw a couple of hybrid Camrys yesterday. They looked great to me, but I didn't have the chance to talk to the drivers to see how they liked them.

I wonder if the Camrys perform any better than the Civic hybrid?

Thank you for the link for the hybrid. I found it very enlightening and it really made me think that it isn't all it is cracked up to be.

Thanks for the link. It definitely makes me question whether I want to purchase one in the future. I am curious as well about the Hybrid Camry. Anyone have any information?

well the hybrid camry is probably more comparable to the accord hybrid which is also very nice, and is available in v6 hybrid form as well as four cylinder hybrid. probably wont see as much gas mileage as a civic hybrid, but as far as size and luxury are concerned its a little better, and comparable to the camry while the civic is more comparable to the toyota corolla, which is not offered in hybrid form.
