My "Malfunction Indicator" (AKA check engine light) came on in my 2002 CRV EX w/1600 miles.
This happened 25 miles after getting gas where I witnessed the attendant "Clicking" the gas cap on. I just suspect it wasn't enough clicks to satisfy the emissions system.
Does anyone know how to reset the light? I know it should eventually go off on its own but I'm not 100% sure it was the fuel cap causing it. If I reset it and it comes back on without fueling I will know it was something else and will visit the dealer.

I'm not sure on the '02 models.... On my '99 you pull the Radio Backup fuse (in the box under the hood) for 10 seconds, and then replace it. You'll need the code to reset the radio after doing this.

I'm probably wrong on this, but I vaguely seem to recall asking about the "pin" that extends out from the instrument cluster, similar to an odometer reset pin, and the salesman telling me it was for clearing the check engine light. I am very vague on this, but it won't hurt to try!

I know it's possible on obd II cars for the check light to come on due to pumping gas while the vehicle is still running. It happened to a friend of mine on a nissan.
