I'm looking into getting a '89 legend coupe with
5 speed, leather, moonroof and they're asking 2600.
I was wondering if that is a good price and what u
think about that cars and is there anything i should
watch out for?

The '88 Legend have a sunroof problem. The drains
get clogged and the water litterally rain storms on
you while you're driving when you hit the break. The
body of the '88 and '89 are the same so I guess the
'89 have the same prob. I understand all that need to
be done is to keep the drains clear. Be careful how
you clean the drains though. Make sure the hose in
the walls of the body doesn't disconnect.

A
major problem with the first gen Legend is the
automatic transmission. I don't know if by '89 the problem
was fixed. Anyway, you're looking for a stick so your
straight anyway. I have an '88 automatic. I would love to
get my hands on the manual kit for it.

HOW MANY MILES ON IT. IF THE MILEAGE IS IN THE
LOW HUNDREDS, DEFINATELY. bUT YOU MIGHT ALSO ASK
ABOUT THE TIMING BELT - HAS IT BEEN CHANGED IN THE LAST
70,000 MILED OR SO. iF THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED IN SOMEWHAT
NEAR 90,000, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A DECENT AMOUNT OF
MONEY TO POUR INTO IT TO GET THAT REPLACED (BUT IT MAY
ALSO BE A WAY TO GET THEM TO LOWER THEIR ASKING
PRICE).
