Hi just joined and live in the UK. I don't know if my 2001 CRV is exactly the same spec as the US version where I guess most members here come from, but I thought I would write about a few things . I generally like the car but it has a few things that really annoy me. These are. 1. If you are parked on a camber with the pavement nearest the open side of the rear door, then there is no way that you can make it stay open. This is really irritating and makes loading an item when you need both hands impossible cos the dammed door keeps closing. 2. The timing on the inside light which comes on when you switch the engine off is too short. It doesn't give you time to take the radio out AND take something out of the dash for instance. You are always thrown into darkness just before you're ready. 3. The heating controls are poor. I find I'm always fiddling with them to get just the temperature I want and never seem to get just the right balance on my feet and mid area. The air-conditioning seems to struggle a bit in mediocre hot weather too! 4 Using the Honda supplied roof rack creates a lot of noise and means the radio has to be turned up high to overcome this. A better aero design could have been achieved. 5. The clock! Oh that pathetic little thing that could be so useful if I could actually see it. It is so well recessed and so dim even without the lights on, I don't know why they bothered include it. Get a dim day where side lights need to be on and their it goes....invisible. I've stuck a real clock on top of the dash now. Not very designery, but at least I know the time when driving.
Apart from that in the two years and 20,000 miles I've had it it's been trouble free. It goes alright but could do with a little more power (I have an auto). I would have liked a button on my key that would close the roof and door windows when you forget like my last car had. Maybe that's on the new model. The best thing I put in it was SatNav which here in London and south England where I drive is the best invention since the wheel. Jules
