I'm sure it could be done, but why don't you want to get the dealership to do it?

I guess it's not a problem with air conditioning and indoor parking, but the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of leather seats is how hot they can get in the summer.

i got a leather seat made from philippines and have it shipped here in Georgia. i can't put it on as the armrest is on its way. how do i remove the armrest? and also i put on the leather seat cover on the front seats, i mean put it on just like a shirt, im afraid the leather seat cover will block the sideairbags. how do leather seats should be installed?

thanks.

I have never heard of heated leather seats but I would think that you could maybe call the dealer ship and find out where you might be able to at least purchase them. I don't think that there is any reason to feel funny about contacting them.

If the seat cover fits the seat like a shirt, wouldn't it be well out of the way of the side airbags?

Don't they deploy from the ceiling?

That's definitely something I'd like to be clear on for the safety aspects.

i wouldn't recommend leather with dogs. maybe it depends how big your dog is
and if you keep their nails trimmed but a larger dog i think the leather
would get scratched up. smaller dogs maybe not.

BTW i forgot to adress the other issues with leather. if it's hot and you're
wearing shorts they are not very comfortable as they stick to your skin as
you perspire. you'll need to condition them often since honda leather is
kinda cheap and stiff, but any leather will have to be maintained. leather
will be easier to keep dog hair out of than cloth. HTH!

Dear Alfie:
In response to your inquiry, the leather seats are warmer as they don't
breath. Also the dogs slip and slide on them more because they are smooth.
They must be treated (we recommend Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner &
Conditioner) in order to keep them soft and from cracking, especially in hot,
dry weather. But they are luxurious. And to keep any dog odor from permeating
the car, use Meguiars Odor Eliminator. The woman who owns the "Pupwagon,"
featured in the Winter issue of Velocity, page 44, does professional dog care
and swears by it.
You might want to order the car with cloth and use Meguiars Heavy Duty Carpet
& Interior Cleaner to maintain it. When the cloth starts to wear or if you
find you really don't like them, you can replace them with custom Katzkin
leather upholstery. Katkin is one of our benefit providers and gives our
members a discount. They advertise in Velocity and will be showing their new
line in a forthcoming issue. And wait until you see the seats they did for
our featured S2000 in a forthcoming issue of Velocity. They are unbelievable
and the quality of their product is superb.
Both Meguiars and Katzkin are linked from both the benefits and links pages
of our Web site.
Should you want any further information, please let us know.
